Learn How To Cut Your Childs Hair

If you have small children, you may be ready to take them to get their first haircut. Have you ever though of saving a little money and cutting your children’s hair at home? Many parents all over the country are catching on and giving their kids the trim. Here are some tips to help you learn how to cut kids hair:

The first thing that you need to do is get your kid to sit and stay still. This might be a difficult task. You might want to look for some sort of distraction. Try giving them a toy or a treat of some kind. Once they are finally sitting down, you can dampen their hair and get started.

It is a good idea to keep the cutters out of sight. A kid might get frightened if they see the scissors coming towards them. Simply talk to your child calmly as you start cutting their hair. Keep them occupied as you continue to cut. Once you are all done, sweep up the hair and get them out of their chair! When a kid is younger it is a lot easier to save a few dollars and cut their hair yourself. Make sure that you use these tips and do not forget safety. There are special scissors out there that you can buy that you can use to cut a kid ’s hair. If a kid were to get a hold of them, they would not be able to injure themselves. Start looking around and see what you can find and get started!

When your young kid ’s hair starts looking straggly, it’s time for a hair cut. Unfortunately, your son or daughter is probably highly mobile and most likely resists requests to sit still for any period of time. Therefore, if you plan to learn how to cut kids hair, arm yourself with these good strategies:

Play pretend with your child days before you plan to give a haircut. Set up a special chair that is only used for doing hair. Allow your child to brush and comb your hair while you sit in the special seat. Then reverse roles. Create an appointment for your child to get her haircut. Put the appointment on a refrigerator calendar. Remind your child daily about the upcoming appointment.

Prepare for the haircut by placing the special chair in front of a TV or large mirror. Lay out the following materials: scissors, hand mirror, towel, spray bottle and comb. Place your child in the chair and wrap a towel around his neck. Use a barber drape if available. Use the spray bottle to wet your child’s hair with water, and run a comb through the hair to work out any tangles.

Tell your kid that your are going to start cutting her hair. Start trimming the bangs or around the front of the kid ’s face. This is typically the most difficult area to cut. Trim the bangs by cutting from the outside of one eyebrow to the outside of the other eyebrow.

Cut the remainder of your kid ’s hair. Start by dividing the hair into four parts. Hold the separate parts with clips or ties. Place the first section of hair between your index finger and forefinger and then slide your fingers down until you reach the desired length. Cut the hair below your fingers. Repeat with the remaining three sections. Comb out the hair and trim any remaining areas that don’t look even.

Things You Need To Recognize For Your 1 Month Baby

He was your bundle of happiness at what time he was first born. And now, a month down the approach, he is a gurgling, fascinating 1 month baby. At the same time as the pleasure and happiness continues to remain, there are also a quantity of other things that you need to know as regards your 1 month baby now. When your child was born, he was very frail. Having been forced out of a safe and secure womb, he was thrusted into a world that he was ill prepared to handle. In short, he was probably terrified about being exposed in the begin. And as such, he tackled it in the only means he knew – by get-together himself in the fetal place and shutting the world out.

Except as a 1 month baby, your baby is healthier prepared to deal with the world. He has been breathing in lung full of new, apparent oxygen for a month now and is beginning to get used to the sights, smells and sounds that constitute the world. The 1 month baby is gradually but progressively waking up to the fact that he has an whole world around him that he is but a small, yet significant part of. And he expresses this awareness in several ways.

In the beginning and foremost, there is a glint in the eyes of the 1 month baby when he looks at the parents, familiar strangers and new persons who encircle him throughout the day and notice and examine his all act. He is leisurely but increasingly start to distinguish these individuals who surround him. And this recognition begins to manifest itself as smiles and smooth frowns.

The additional thing that the 1 month baby discovers for himself is that he has something recognized as appendages. When he was born, he had no picture that there were limbs linked to his body that could move on their personal. But the gradual process of accommodation with the world enables him to initially and foremost, recognize the reality that he has limbs and next, to move them around and to make use of them to walk around the boundaries of his world.

Other than ever, the 1 month baby needs affectionate loving care. Still as he learns to suckle on a teat to take out the nourishing milk, he realizes that the sucking action is the most comforting one. And he will go on to suck at something and all that comes within the grasp of his toothless gums. Sucking not only strengthens the strength around his jaws, but also prepares his jowl bones and other muscles that he will make use of later in life.

Is Your Child Rebellious ? – Find Out What Can Help

If things with your Out of Control teenager have pushed you to the point of looking online for help, then you have most likely done everything you could think of doing to modify their behavior. You have probably been coping with a child who loses his temper, lies, argues with you about almost everything, breaks rules repeatedly, refuses to do what you ask and has no respect for you. If this describes you and your situation, it is time to go back to school, and start studying up on what you can do differently. Some new ideas, techniques and strategies for dealing with your teenwill make some positive changes in your relationship with them. Perhaps some unconventional ideas from an authority on dealing with teens could be just the answer you need.

It is important to remember that nobody is born with all the facts they need to be a parent. These are things that grow and develop as our children grow. Some parenting abilities come naturally and some require a bit more learning. For example, knowing how to never argue with your child again is a great ability to have, but the natural tendency for any person is to bicker back when someone is arguing with them. Learning to diffuse the situation and walk away, in control, and without arguing is a great tool to have. However, many parents do not know how. I sure didn’t, but now I do. I have learned. You can too.

There is help for you in dealing with a behavior defiant teenager. You do not necessarily have to go into family counseling, or take parenting classes but you do need to find some new skills and techniques for effectively handling your teenager. Simple changes in your words and/or actions can potentially result in wonderful behavior adjustments in your child.

You see, our culture is constantly changing and the society our kids are growing up in is quite different from the one we grew up in. Because of this fact, everything that worked in parenting us, will not necessarily work today. The good news is that there are helpful parenting resources, with proven methods, that you can put into effect quickly and successfully. Once you have developed some of these abilities, things will start looking up. Stress will go down, and your family will find some happy times once again.

In conclusion, I want to encourage you to not give up. Instead, get help, and new ideas for dealing with your child. As the parent, you are the first hope to get them back on a path that will lead to a happy and hopeful future. Giving up won’t help you or your child and the pain of the situation will continually tear at all parts of your life. Help is the key to finding contentment at home once again.

Parenting A Defiant Teen – One Essential Ingredient

If you are the parent of a teen, I am sure your patience has been tested more than once. In addition, if you are the parent of a defiant, your job is probably even more difficult. So what can you do as a parent, to really help a rebellious teen? I think the most important quality you can have is to be unrelenting. Do not ever give up on them, on helping them, standing by them, or on parenting them. If you do, who else will they have?

As parents, our responsibility is to love our children without wavering as we guide them through childhood and into adulthood. No matter how much they test us, fight us, argue with, ignore us or rebel, we must be persistent as parents. It is a major part of parenting. We are the ones who can teach them how to grow into successful adults that positively impact the world around them. There will always be those difficult days…the days when we are exhausted, frustrated, disappointed and overwhelmed, but every day ends and a new one follows. Keep that in mind. Time is not infinite. There is always an end. Be unrelenting as a parent.

So how can you be relentless as a parent? A few things that come to mind are to stay active and involved in their life, pursue them and show attentiveness in what interests them. Attend any events they may have, or accept and participate in any of their leisurely activities that you can. For instance, if you have a child who likes to ride skateboards, go and watch them at the skate park, get to know their friends, maybe attend a professional event with them, like the Dew Tour. Whatever it is they are currently passionate about, get interested in too. Also, be sure to let your teen know that you will always be there for them and that you are always available to listen.

Another part of being relentless is choosing to never give up on your job of parenting. It is a job you simply cannot quit. No matter how hard a situation gets, be willing to learn more. Nobody is born knowing all there is to being a parent. Therefore, learning is going to be a part of the process. It is necessary that you remain willing to continue reaching out, to keep trying, and to keep learning. It is then, that you will remain close to your child, even through those rebellious [spin]teen|teenage years. And by remaining close, you will have more influence over them and the decisions that they make. What a wonderful gift that will be.

Cheap, Easy And Child-Safe Homemade Cleaning Solutions

You can use common household items to create your own safe, non-toxic cleaning solutions. They are inexpensive (healthy for your pocket book), healthy for our planet and healthier for you and your children and pets.

Tile, Counter Tops & Toilet Bowl Cleaner – Mix baking soda and water together until you form a paste with a similar consistency as soft toothpaste.

Shower Doors – If your glass doors are covered with scum, wipe them down with lemon oil. As a preventative measure, you can use a few drops of lemon oil on them once or twice a month.

Shower Heads – If you shower heads have mineral deposits, put vinegar in a plastic bag and attach the bag to your shower head using a rubber band. You essentially want the shower head to be immersed in vinegar overnight. Then rinse with water in the morning and they will be mineral deposit free and sparkling clean!

Window’s & Mirrors – Fill a spray bottle with Club Soda. Spray on glass and immediately wipe off solution using newspaper.

Unclogging Drains – Pour equal amounts of salt and baking soda down your drain. Run hot water for a couple of minutes. This will work great if your drain is clogged due to oil or grease. If your drain is clogged for any other reason, such as hair, this solution probably won’t work for you.

Faucets with Lime Scale – Rub on some lemon juice and let it sit over night. In the morning, wipe with damp clothe.

Stainless Steel Sinks, Fixtures and Appliances – Dilute one part rubbing alcohol with two parts water. Put mixture into a spray bottle, spray mixture onto a soft cotton cloth.

Hardwood Floors – Mix together one part distilled white vinegar and two parts water. Vinegar disinfects and is great at picking up dust.

Scuffed Floors – Apply 2-4 drops of tea tree oil. Wipe off the excess oil with a soft cloth then take a clean soft cloth and rub in white distilled vinegar.

Wood Furniture – Create your own polish by combining 2 cups olive oil or vegetable oil with the juice from 1 lemon. Rub it on your furniture with a soft cloth.

Glassware – To make your glassware sparkle, add 1 cup of vinegar to your rinse water.

Vehicle – To clean your car, mix 1/4 cup of liquid Castile Soap with a full bucket of hot water. You can use it to clean your car’s exterior, windshield, hubcaps and tires. Use a clean soft sponge and thoroughly hose it off when you’re finished washing.

Garage Floor – To remove oil stains and get your garage floor looking like new, cover oil spots with baking soda and sprinkle with water until a paste forms. Let the paste stand overnight. Then scrub with a damp brush, rinse and wipe clean.

Cheers to a clean healthy home, a healthy family, a healthy planet and a healthy pocket book!

Tips For Raising Children Who Don’t Suffer From Victim Thinking

Victim thinking is surely one of the most
stressful traits of life. In kids, it creates whining, angry young people that deny responsibility of their actions. In adults, it creates ticking time bombs that in my opinion, live miserable, short-sighted existences.

Maybe it would be productive to first define victim thinking.

Victim thinking is when a person cannot accept their role in a given situation and insists on blaming others for what has happened. These people never account for their own actions or consider how their actions may have played a role in the final outcome.

Victim thinking is passed down from parent to child. This happens invisibly, as the child watches and listens. Parents don’t give kids the credit they deserve when it comes to understanding just how well they really are paying attention. children see and hear this type of reactionary response and learn phrases like:

“I can’t believe that man did that to me”
Or
“I know I didn’t leave that there. It must have been his fault”

We spend so much time trying to make sure we don’t get blamed for anything, that we never stop in the moment to analyze our role in the situation.

“What changes could I have made?”
Or
“How could I have acted differently, to make that situation better?”

Instead of believing that everything happens to us, we have to start looking within ourselves for the solutions we need. Each of us makes choices every day. There’s always areas for improvement. It really takes effort to make this occur. I have found in my own life that only when I put my mind to it, can I honestly step back and look at everything that happens in my life and look at it from a more objective and global stance.

One of the most challenging things I have found is the ability to accomplish this from a parenting perspective. Parents always take offense to someone suggesting that they may not be doing somethingthe right way, or may need work in a specific part of their parenting ability.

In my own circumstance, I had issues right after my divorce. I had been used to single parenting because my wife and I had worked opposite shifts. Unfortunately, I was now stuck with a situation I had never experienced. I only had my daughter for 2 weekends a month and I didn’t want to have to make her accountable for a bunch of rules and norms. I wanted to enjoy our time together and have fun!

What I found was that even though I had her a lot less than my ex, I still needed to keep those rules in tact and insist that she follow them. It would have been simple to blame my issues on the divorce or even my ex, but I had to change my thought process. In the end it was successful and I was able to have my own rules and expectations for my daughter. By looking at my situation globally and taking ownership for my actions, I was also able to make changes that afforded me the opportunity to have my daughter almost half time. It is possible and it does work, but you have to want to make a change.

By looking at ourselves first and putting our best foot forward from theonset, we’ll not only be more successful as adults, but we will also be teaching our children through role modeling, a happier way of life.

Baby Shower Party

The great news of all is finding out your pregnant. Well, instant to knowing the grand proposal of a lifetime. After a successful wedding ceremony, knowing that your love has borne fruit is the icing on the cake. It is an extremely difficult task to search and look for all the right stuff and equipment the baby will need for the first time expecting mom. Moms-to-be need to list down all the items the baby would need with the least delay possible time so that little by little, each thing can already be bought and prepared for the baby’s arrival. Without getting too much headache over it, there is another easy way to almost have it all. The solution is to hold a baby shower party! The only headache mom-to-be would’ve is the menu she would’ve to prepare on that day and that is simpler for her.

Now the burden of seeking and finding for baby stuff is passed on to the guests. But another worry is aroused. How will the baby shower go about? The best answer is to have a theme that would lead the flow of the baby shower. There are some ways of selecting and determining on a theme. Do you want it to be color based? In case you already know the baby’s gender, blue or pink is used to universally represent a baby boy or a baby girl. Or baby things such as a baby bottle or a pacifier? How about character-themed baby shower such as the Power Puff Girls, Sesame Street, Two Stupid Dogs or the Looney Tunes? It could also be a time-of-the-day baby shower whereby each guests is tasked to contribute something the baby would use or need during that time of the day.

Expert suggests tremendous baby shower gift ideas such as a layette gift set, baby gift basket, beautiful baby linen, vital baby equipment, a baby gift certificate, or a baby massage set. Each gift idea is unique. For the baby gift basket, some ideas they suggest is to make your own baby gift basket or go for the classical clothing baby gift basket where you can never go wrong. You can also go for fun baby basket, monogrammed baby gift baskets, mother and baby basket, pampering baby gift basket, or a gift basket for twins. They also have different suggestions for baby boys and baby girls. For the complete descriptions for each item, just browse on the internet and read on to get fantastic baby gift ideas.

Once the baby shower is done, take stock of what is already there and not. For those things still lacking from your list, make the necessary arrangements to have it readily available once the baby born.

Just last few tips for a successful baby shower: hold it 4 to 6 weeks prior the due date, set up a theme, write down the guest list, adjust the size and tone of the baby shower, plan the fun games, plan the list of dishes, create baby shower party favors, and last but not the least, set the time and location, if it won’t be held in your house. Remember, baby showers are a great way to welcome the baby that would be arriving soon enough.

Teen Suicide – A Dark Reality

It is not unlikely that you have all heard about a teen that killed his or herself. In fact, in a Canadian survey that took place in 1999 by Stats Canada, suicide was the leading cause of death for teens between the ages of 14-19 years old. This cause of death came second to car accidents.

Why do people kill themselves?

It is truly such a waste for someone to kill themself. All they are doing is being selfish by finding the quickest way out of a small problem, while leaving their friends and family to suffer and be miserable. Maybe that is what they wanted though. People kill themselves for so many different reasons that probably make no sense to other people, because the person who wanted to die was so full of grief and sadness, that their entire world became distorted. They didn’t see things from a clear angle like other people do. In deep need of some teen advice, they only wanted one thing… to get out.

What are the signs?

It doesn’t matter what anyone says, there really aren’t any true signs unless you know the person inside and out. More common symptoms are people who:

* Talk about wishing they were dead
* Become withdrawn from things they used to enjoy
* Refuse to be complimented
* Talk negatively about themselves

Of course, this is not always the case. In fact, some people hide their wishes to die very well. They may not tell anybody they want to die. They might start acting more nice to everybody and maybe even leave them some gifts or do something extremely nice for their closer friends or family before they plan on killing themself. As you can see, it’s very hard to tell when someone actually will kill themself, and often when they do, it is a major shock.

Is there any way to prevent it?

You might be able to prevent a close family member or friend from ending their life by always being supportive, and making sure you talk to them about the value of life. It doesn’t matter what their religious beliefs are – there is only one you. The best teen advice is to keep in mind that if you do not like yourself, what do you think ending your life will do? It will put an end to you, but leave people that do care about you to suffer. There is always a solution to every problem, and we all feel that we hate ourself at some point in our life. There is always room for change, especially when you are a young teen! I cannot stress enough how much people change from the time they are 16 to when they reach age 24 or 25! All your thoughts, interests, attitudes, behavior, everything will change and you’ll probably have a whole new outlook on life. Anytime someone close to you suggests killing themself, remind them that there is always a better alternate solution. No human is better than any other. We are all biological beings that deserve to live and be happy. If you are feeling suicidal, if you want to end your life, you should seek counseling or write in a journal to express your feelings and to try and understand them. You have a distorted view of yourself and of life. It can easily be fixed, and you will feel happy again, soon my friend.

Babysitter Services – Methods To Being A Perfect

It feels good to know that you provide an excellent and reliable babysitting service. It is normal for a babysitter to babysit for the same household frequently and this may be beneficial for all the parties.

From previous experience, the parents would feel content if they leave the children in your hands, as they know that you are capable of good babysitting service. They can, thus, be able to have a comfortable and pleasant time outside.

Now the question is: what you should do so that the family will look for your babysitting services yet again?

Choosing a Babysitter

Remember to watch out for the fundamental principles of babysitter services:

Report to the job on time and dress properly. The perfect type of clothing would be a clean sweater and well-ironed jeans since you may go up the stairs unexpectedly or crawl on the floor with the kids. Keep your shoes near the door and cut your nails short and clean.

When in their home, act politely. You should leave the home they way it was when you entered it. The parents may ask you to help yourself with a snack. Make sure that you place everything in order after the snack.

When the children have gone off to sleep, place the books, DVDs and toys in their original location. Shake the cushion and clean the room.

Remember to clean the place if any thing spills. Always inform the parents if any thing in the house has been damaged or broken during your babysitter service.

Always get a number where you can reach the parents and also ask for the time at which they are likely to come home. Call up the parents as soon as possible if the kid is injured or falls ill during the duration of your babysitter service. You will not be held responsible for the illness or accident but they will blame you if you don’t inform them.

Always remember that you are to do your work of babysitter service there. If the children have gone to bed, you can watch TV or listen to music but keep the volume down. It is important that you will be able to hear the children reach out for you or when they are upset. Look out for them every once a while to ensure that they are safe and sleeping calmly.

At the time of the arrival of the parents, inform them about any funny incident that took place. You can set their mind at rest by telling them that everything is under control. If things aren’t fine then tell them precisely what happened and do not be biased.

You can continue with the same family if you maintain a high standard. Moreover, they will also recommend you for babysitter service to other families.
